Cyberheist 2025 brought together key voices in cybercrime prevention and digital trust (from left): Oliver Patron, Assistant Director for Cybersecurity at Globe Business; Emmanuel Barcena, President and CEO of Philippine Clearing House Corporation; and Robert Paguia, Division Chief of International Cooperation on Cybercrime and Data Protection Officer (DPO) at the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC).
Globe Business once again brought together the nation’s leading digital executives for the second edition of Cyberheist, the country’s only immersive cybersecurity experience designed to challenge, educate, and empower business leaders in an era of escalating digital threats.
Now on its second year, Cyberheist placed participants in real-world threat scenarios—combining simulations, expert-led sessions, and strategic consultations to strengthen their readiness for emerging cyber risks. The event directly addressed a critical gap in the market: despite over 80% of Philippine organizations reporting security breaches, a BlueVoyant study revealed that 65% still view cyber risk as a “minor priority,” and only 6% have achieved a mature level of cybersecurity readiness.
Robert S. Paguia, Division Chief for International Cooperation on Cybercrime and Data Protection Officer at the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC), opened the morning session with a timely reminder: “In today’s digital world, protecting personal data is the proxy for trust.” He underscored how compliance, vigilance, and collaboration define an organization’s resilience and credibility.
Joining him was Oliver Patron, Assistant Director for Cybersecurity at Globe Business, who outlined a holistic framework for building operational resilience through network, platform, and cybersecurity integration. “We continue to strengthen our network to ensure customers have the speed, reliability, and security required in today’s fast-paced market,” Patron said.
A highlight of the program was the case study presented by Emmanuel Barcena, President and CEO of the Philippine Clearing House Corporation (PCHC), which showcased how collaboration with Globe Business helped fortify defenses in the nation’s core financial infrastructure. “No single organization can stand alone,” Barcena noted. “Through our partnership with Globe Business, we’ve gained capabilities that span simulation, response, and strategic advisory support.”
KD Dizon, Head of Globe Business, affirmed the company’s mission: “Cyberheist represents our commitment to help enterprises go beyond compliance. We want to empower leaders to assess their current defenses, optimize their investments, and prepare for evolving digital regulations.”
The afternoon sessions turned insights into action through interactive escape room simulations, allowing participants to experience real-time incident response challenges. Experts from Globe Business’s Solutions Consulting team also provided one-on-one consultations, while technology partners—including Sophos (Incident Management and Response), Proofpoint (Data Loss Prevention), and Akamai (Web Application Firewall)—showcased integrated solutions for enhanced protection.
Organizations seeking to strengthen their cybersecurity posture can engage with Globe Business through its nationwide roadshows, consultations, and ICT product demos.
