E-wallet giant GCash has suspended gaming access on its GLife feature after receiving a directive from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP).
The suspension took effect at 8 p.m. on Saturday, August 16, in compliance with BSP Memorandum No. M-2025-029 issued on August 14. The memorandum orders the suspension of in-app gambling access across mobile payment apps and websites.
“In compliance with Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Memorandum No. M-2025-029, gaming access on GLife has now been suspended as of 8 PM, August 16, 2025,” GCash said in an advisory.
GCash, operated by G-Xchange Inc. and regulated by the BSP, advised users with funds in their gaming wallet to “coordinate directly with the licensed gaming merchant or by visiting their official website.”
