The Gymnastics Association of the Philippines has revealed the gleaming gold, silver, and bronze medals that will be awarded at the 3rd FIG Artistic Gymnastics Junior World Championships, set for November 20 to 24 at the Manila Marriott Hotel in Pasay City.

Inspired by the elegance of a clam cradling a pearl, the medal design pays tribute to the grit, struggle, and triumph of the world’s best junior gymnasts. Each piece mirrors the tournament logo, with the FIG emblem shining at the center like a pearl, encircled by the “3rd” insignia. Above it, silhouettes of a male gymnast on the rings and a female gymnast on the balance beam capture the artistry of the sport. The competition dates and Pasay City location are also engraved, marking the event’s historic staging in the Philippines.

“We recognize the hard work and effort of our young athletes in striving to gain glory for flag and country. So we created these attractive medals in tribute to their achievements at the world juniors,” said GAP president Cynthia Carrion. “Every time they look at their medals, our top performers will feel that their feats were worthy of every struggle and challenge they faced.”

Beyond the medals, podium finishers will also receive cuddly mascots—Bughaw for the boys and Lila for the girls—an added keepsake celebrating their breakthrough on the world stage. “These cute and cuddly mascots are part of our exclusive package in recognizing the gallant feats of these young athletes, who will emerge as the next generation of world gymnastics stars,” Carrion added.

Filipino pride will shine even brighter with the participation of Karl Eldrew Yulo, younger brother of Paris Olympics gold medalist Carlos Edriel Yulo. Karl Eldrew is currently training in Tokyo under the guidance of renowned Japanese coach Munehiro Kugimiya, the same mentor who molded his brother into a world and Olympic champion.

With its stunning medals, vibrant mascots, and rising Filipino talent, the Junior World Championships promise a spectacular showcase of gymnastics excellence in Manila.
