Sec Larry Gadon turning on the switch of the solar power electricity
Secretary Larry Gadon led the commissioning of the solar power system of the Cavite State University for its main campus in Indang Cavite plus 13 other campuses located all over Cavite , assisted by Dr. Maria Agnes Nuestro , president of the Cavite State University .
The solar power system will result to millions of pesos savings which can be used for other primary education purpose . The university will also earn from the excess electricity uploaded to the grid which will boost power supply for households and industries .
The university will also earn from the monetized carbon credits .
The project initiated by Sec. Larry Gadon is NO COST to the government under a private partnership arrangement.
The project also contributes to the Philippines compliance to the Paris Agreement of the United Nations targetting a 35% mix use of alternative energy by the year 2030 .
It is also part of compliance to the Kyoto Protocol reducing carbon emissions by 2030 .
When Marcos administration took over in 2022 , the mix use ratio was only at 6% . With wider and more intensive alternative energy program of the Marcos administration the compliance stands at 22 percent and is moving forward .
