First Lady Liza Marcos tells Gary V: Political colors should not divide Filipinos

First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos emphasized the importance of national unity, saying political affiliations should not stand in the way of efforts to help the country and its people.

In a statement featured in a social media post dated October 9, 2026, the First Lady told singer Gary Valenciano, popularly known as Gary V, that political differences should not matter when individuals are working for the nation’s welfare.

“For as long as what you are doing is for the good of our country and our countrymen, it doesn’t matter what color you support,” Marcos said.

She stressed that Filipinos share a common identity despite differences in political beliefs and preferences.

“At the end of the day, iisa lang naman ang Pilipinas natin,” she added.

Her remarks highlighted the importance of cooperation and putting the country’s interests ahead of political divisions.

The First Lady’s message underscored the view that efforts to serve Filipinos should transcend political affiliations, regardless of which political group or leader an individual supports.

The social media post did not provide further details about the context of her conversation with Valenciano.
