A fire erupted early Monday morning at a cold storage facility along Fernando Poe Jr. (FPJ) Avenue in Barangay Del Monte, Quezon City, prompting a major response from fire units.
The blaze began shortly before 3:00 a.m. and triggered the first alarm at 3:28 a.m., according to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP). Firefighters quickly deployed at least 10 fire trucks, along with volunteers, to the scene.
Though the cause of the fire remains under investigation, no employees were inside the facility at the time. Parts of the building, including the roof and walls, sustained significant damage.
Traffic along FPJ Avenue, particularly toward Quezon Avenue, is heavily impacted by the response efforts. Motorists are being rerouted through Osmeña Street due to the presence of several fire trucks.
