The Philippine Embassy in Tel Aviv has issued a renewed advisory urging Filipinos in Israel to remain indoors and stay vigilant amid heightened tensions following Israel’s recent airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear and military facilities.
This warning comes as fears grow over a potential Iranian retaliation. On Thursday, Israel reportedly carried out targeted strikes on sites in Iran, marking a significant escalation in their ongoing shadow war. The attack, believed to involve bunker-busting munitions, struck areas near the Natanz nuclear complex and other strategic locations.
In response, the Israeli Home Front Command raised the national alert level and imposed a temporary ban on public gatherings from June 13 to 14. Schools have been closed, and only essential services are being allowed to operate. Sirens have also been tested in multiple areas as a precautionary measure.
Filipinos in Israel—numbering more than 30,000, many of whom work in caregiving and agricultural sectors—were reminded to keep emergency kits ready and to head to designated bomb shelters should missile sirens go off. The embassy emphasized the importance of following Israeli authorities’ instructions and keeping communication lines open.
Tensions remain high as Israeli military forces remain on full alert, with air defense systems, including Iron Dome and Arrow batteries, placed on standby. Iran has condemned the strikes but has not yet formally responded, though regional analysts warn that retaliation could come through proxy militias or direct strikes in the coming days.
The Philippine government continues to monitor the situation closely and is prepared to assist Filipinos should the conflict escalate further.
