FIFA has announced that the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup will feature a record-breaking USD1 billion prize pool, with the eventual tournament champion set to earn up to USD125 million.
The inaugural 32-team tournament will be hosted in the United States from June to July 2025, marking FIFA’s most ambitious club competition to date.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino said the new format, which includes a seven-match group stage and playoffs, is projected to generate USD2 billion in total revenue. From that, USD1 billion will be distributed to participating clubs, while USD250 million will be allocated to a global solidarity fund to support club football around the world.
“The distribution model of the FIFA Club World Cup reflects the pinnacle of club football and represents the biggest-ever prize money for a football tournament,” Infantino said.
Of the total USD1 billion prize pool, USD525 million will be divided equally among all 32 clubs as participation fees, and USD475 million will be performance-based.
Top European clubs could receive as much as USD38.19 million just for joining the competition, while Oceania’s representative, Auckland City, will reportedly receive at least USD3.58 million.
FIFA emphasized that all proceeds from the event will be reinvested into global club football development.
