Miss Universe Philippines is putting more power in the hands of pageant followers this year, unveiling a structured voting calendar that will allow fans to directly influence which delegates move on to the 2026 semifinals.
In a major shift for this year’s competition, the organization announced that supporters will be able to vote during three separate periods tied to key preliminary segments, turning the road to the semifinals into a week-by-week test of popularity, performance, and consistency. The move adds a new layer of excitement to the pageant, as delegates will now have to win over not only the judges, but also an increasingly engaged online audience.
Under the schedule released by the organization, voting for the Evening Gown segment will run from April 5 to 11, with results to be announced on April 11. The Swimsuit round will follow from April 12 to 18, with its top picks to be revealed on April 18. The final fan voting window will cover the Interview Round from April 19 to 25, with the corresponding announcement set for April 25.
The updated semifinals format reflects a broader effort by Miss Universe Philippines to make the contest more interactive and dynamic. Instead of relying solely on the traditional judging process, the organization has created multiple pathways for delegates to stay in contention. Ten candidates will earn semifinal spots through public voting, while five others will advance through sponsor-backed challenges. Another five will secure places through wildcard selections, and the remaining 10 semifinalists will be chosen by the judges.
This expanded system means the competition will no longer be decided by a single metric alone. Strong stage presence, sponsor performance, public appeal, and judges’ evaluations will all play critical roles in shaping the semifinal roster, giving more contestants a realistic shot at extending their journey.
Miss Universe Philippines Executive Vice President Voltaire Tayag said the revised format is meant to deepen public participation and make each phase of the pageant matter more. He said the organization wants Filipinos to feel more connected to the process by giving them a meaningful voice in deciding who advances. Tayag also emphasized that every portion of the competition is now a chance for candidates to prove themselves and leave a lasting impression.
The Top 10 from each voting window will be announced ahead of the finals, while the full list of semifinalists will only be completed and revealed on coronation night, adding more suspense to the competition’s climax.
The fan-driven mechanics build on the organization’s earlier announcement of its new voting system in partnership with Maya, which was introduced last month as part of the pageant’s 2026 innovations.
This year, 51 candidates are competing for the Miss Universe Philippines crown after being formally presented at City of Dreams Manila in Parañaque. One of them will eventually succeed reigning titleholder Ahtisa Manalo and earn the right to represent the country on the international Miss Universe stage.
With public voting now embedded in three crucial stages, the 2026 pageant is shaping up to be more than just a beauty competition. It is becoming a national conversation, where fan loyalty, candidate momentum, and standout performances could all spell the difference between an early exit and a coveted place in the semifinals.
