Just a few hours after BTS member Jungkook finished his military service on June 11, a woman was arrested for attempting to break into his home in Yongsan, Seoul. The woman, a Chinese national in her 30s, was caught pressing buttons on the front door keypad late at night, around 11:20 PM. She told the police that she had come to South Korea specifically to see Jungkook after his discharge.
A neighbor noticed her unusual behavior and reported it, which prompted the police to respond quickly. The woman was arrested and is now being investigated for trying to enter someone’s home without permission.

This is an example of a “sasaeng” fan — a person who becomes excessively obsessed with a celebrity and fails to respect their personal space. Jungkook has spoken before about fans waiting outside his house, asking them to stop and respect his privacy.
Many fans reacted online, expressing feelings of upset and concern. One wrote, “That’s his home, not a tourist spot.” Another said, “He just got out of the military and this already happened. It’s scary.”
As Jungkook starts his life again outside the military, people are asking for better protection for K-pop stars so they can live peacefully and safely.
