Etiqa Philippines reaffirmed its commitment to ethical finance and inclusive development as it joined government leaders and financial experts at the Halal Economy Forum held at the World Trade Center Metro Manila. The event, part of the center’s Business Broadcast Series, carried the theme “From Farm to Finance: Empowering Global Communities through Halal Innovation and Purpose Growth.”

The forum brought together key representatives from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), Maybank Philippines, and Etiqa Philippines to explore how Halal principles and Islamic finance can drive equitable, sustainable, and purpose-driven growth in the global economy.

His Excellency Dato’ Abdul Malik Melvin Castelino Anthony, Ambassador of Malaysia to the Philippines, opened the session with a keynote on Mainstreaming Islamic Finance, emphasizing the growing opportunities in the Philippine market. Discussions that followed centered on Islamic banking legislation, emerging financial instruments, and how Islamic finance differs from conventional systems in promoting ethical and transparent practices.

Gladys Pascual, Head of Strategy and OIC Chief Operating Officer of Etiqa Philippines, joined a high-level panel alongside experts from DTI, BSP, and Maybank. The dialogue highlighted how Halal innovation can uplift communities, advance financial inclusion, and strengthen values-driven economies.

In line with its advocacy, Etiqa Philippines promotes Takaful Personal Accident Insurance, a Shari’ah-compliant solution that allows Filipinos to safeguard their families through collective responsibility and shared benefit. Priced from only ₱1,400 annually, the plan covers accidental death, disability, and medical expenses, with a cashback benefit for those with no claims during the coverage period.

“Through Takaful, we make protection accessible while honoring the principles of fairness and compassion,” said Don Divinagracia, Head of Takaful at Etiqa Philippines. “It’s a meaningful way for families to stay financially secure while staying true to their faith.”

By supporting initiatives like the Halal Economy Forum, Etiqa Philippines continues to champion financial inclusion and innovation rooted in ethics and community empowerment. The company remains steadfast in its mission to foster shared prosperity and make a positive impact—helping build a more inclusive, purpose-driven financial ecosystem for Filipinos.
