Elon Musk could reach trillionaire status by 2027

Tech tycoon Elon Musk may become the world’s first trillionaire within the next few years, a new report suggests.

With a net worth of $241.8 billion, Musk’s fortune is growing at a rapid pace, averaging an increase of 110% annually, according to Informa Connect Academy.

Musk, the CEO of Tesla, SpaceX, and X (formerly Twitter), is well-positioned to reach this historic milestone by 2027. His vast empire spans electric vehicles, space exploration, artificial intelligence (AI), brain implants, and social media.

Tesla, Musk’s most valuable asset, is worth approximately $710 billion. His 13% stake in the company is currently valued at about $93 billion.

Informa’s report names Musk as the “clear favorite” to hit $1 trillion first, though he faces competition. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, benefiting from the AI boom, could reach that goal by 2028. Indian billionaire Gautam Adani is also on track to become a trillionaire in the coming years.

Musk’s wealth is heavily tied to Tesla’s performance, but his ventures are not without risk. Competition from affordable Chinese rivals and controversies surrounding Musk’s behavior, including his management of X, could impact his path to trillionaire status.

In addition to Tesla, Musk holds stakes in companies like SpaceX, valued at $210 billion, and Neuralink, a brain chip startup.

While his fortune continues to grow, Musk’s controversial public persona could complicate his financial future. Last year, he apologized for what he called his “dumbest” social media post while simultaneously telling advertisers: “Go f**k yourself!”
