Eight people are arrested in a joint anti-illegal drugs operation conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Philippine National Police in Antipolo City, Rizal.

The buy-bust operation, carried out late Saturday night in Barangay San Luis, results in the dismantling of a suspected drug den, according to authorities.

PDEA operatives from Rizal, together with personnel from the PNP Regional Intelligence Unit 4A, apprehend the suspects at around 10:20 p.m. on January 31.

Those arrested are identified as Walter, 44; Wilmar, 31; Clariz, 22; Archie, 34; Ryan, 32; Jonard, 27; Rommel, 43; and Alvin, 31, all residents of Antipolo City with varying occupations.

Seized during the operation are about five grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of ₱34,500, along with assorted drug paraphernalia and marked buy-bust money.

Authorities say the confiscated items indicate the location was being used for the sale and use of illegal drugs.

The suspects are set to face multiple charges under Republic Act No. 9165, including offenses related to the sale and possession of dangerous drugs, maintenance of a drug den, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
