Easterlies to bring rains in parts of the country

The easterlies will bring scattered rains and thunderstorms to parts of the country, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) in its latest weather bulletin released on Saturday.

In its 4 a.m. advisory, PAGASA stated that cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms are expected over Eastern Samar, Leyte, Southern Leyte, Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and Davao Oriental.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and most parts of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate sea conditions will prevail across the archipelago, PAGASA added.

Additionally, the weather bureau issued a warning for dangerous heat index levels, with temperatures expected to reach 42°C in Dagupan City (Pangasinan), Aparri (Cagayan), and Zamboanga City.
