Easterlies and Amihan to Bring Rains Across the Country – PAGASA

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reports that both the easterlies and the Northern Monsoon (Amihan) will influence the country’s weather on Sunday, bringing rains and cloudy conditions.

Northern Samar, Albay, Sorsogon, and Catanduanes will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the easterlies. Moderate to heavy rainfall may lead to flash floods or landslides in these areas.

Batanes and Babuyan Islands can expect cloudy skies with light rains caused by the Amihan, though no significant impact is anticipated. Similarly, Ilocos Norte will see partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the Northeast Monsoon, with no major effects expected.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms influenced by the easterlies. Severe thunderstorms may cause flash floods or landslides.

Coastal waters in Extreme Northern Luzon, Central Luzon, and the rest of Northern Luzon will be moderate to rough, while other coastal regions will experience slight to moderate sea conditions.

Sunday’s sunrise was at 6:03 a.m., and sunset is expected at 6:07 p.m.
