Barely two months it’s launch in early July the current year, the Department of Trade and Industry’s (DTI) has awarded a homegrown digital logistics and e-commerce innovator its E-Commerce Philippine Trustmark Certificate, a first in the country’s e-commerce platforms to receive such recognition.
DTI launched the trust mark under Republic Act No. 11967, or the Internet Transactions Act, which aims to encourage online merchants and payment providers to uphold the highest standards of safety, transparency and accountability by awarding them with the government’s official seal of credibility for online platforms.
Recognized recently is innovation company QuadX that brings entrepreneurs solutions and services in an integrated e-commerce platform that provide tools and products for merchants looking to grow businesses online from digital logistics and courier services to payment processing and cross-border management.
“As a proudly Filipino company, we are honored to be the first recipient of the Trustmark Certificate,” QuadX president and chief-operating-officer Raffy Vicente enthused.
“This milestone validates our mission to create safer, more reliable digital commerce experiences for both sellers and buyers, and it inspires us to continue empowering entrepreneurs nationwide,” Vicente noted.
According to DTI secretary Maria Cristina Aldeguer-Roque, giving recognition to QuadX’s pioneering innovations in the field of e-commerce underscores the government’s commitment to establish greater consumer protection.
“The issuance of the very first Trustmark to QuadX demonstrates our commitment to protecting Filipino consumers while supporting legitimate online platforms and merchants,” Secretary Roque pointed out as she highlighted QuadX as a consistent partner of the DTI in working with the agency’s E-Commerce Bureau since the pandemic months in 2020.
The trade chief stressed that DTI is also committed to promote the growth of e-commerce in the Philippines and the Trustmark assures the public that the businesses they transact with are compliant with fair trade practices, properly registered, and accountable under the law.
“By working with companies like QuadX, we are strengthening trust and confidence in the Philippine digital economy,” she said.
In ending, Vicente underscored that the Philippine Trustmark sets a benchmark for trusted e-commerce through the advancement of consumer protection that is focuses on education campaigns for enhanced transparency and accountability and working closely with government and industry partners to build a safer, more inclusive digital economy.
“The Trustmark is more than just a seal. It’s a commitment to protect Filipino consumers and strengthen their confidence in online shopping. For QuadX, this is only the beginning. We’re focused on driving innovations that will make e-commerce in the Philippines more transparent, reliable, and customer-first,” she concluded.
