The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has strongly condemned all forms of child sexual abuse, emphasizing the responsibility of parents, guardians, and communities to protect children from exploitation and violence.
In a statement, the agency underscored the importance of providing children with a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment where their rights, dignity, and welfare are protected.
The DSWD reminded parents and guardians to remain vigilant against potential threats to their children’s safety and to take an active role in their upbringing and development.
It also stressed the need to recognize signs of possible abuse and ensure that children feel safe reporting inappropriate behavior or harmful experiences.
The agency emphasized that protecting children requires the collective efforts of families, communities, and government institutions to prevent abuse and ensure that victims receive appropriate assistance.
The DSWD continues to advocate stronger child protection measures and greater public awareness to safeguard minors against sexual abuse and exploitation.
The public is encouraged to report suspected cases of child abuse to appropriate authorities and local social welfare offices to facilitate immediate intervention and assistance.
