The Department of Social Welfare and Development in Caraga Region (DSWD-13) distributed around 2,793 family food packs (FFPs) to beneficiaries of its risk resiliency program in Basilisa and Libjo, Dinagat Islands, on Wednesday.
The food packs were provided under the Food-for-Work (FFW) program, compensating participants of the Project LAWA at BINHI initiative for their contributions to community projects.
In Basilisa, 300 beneficiaries from Barangays Diegas, New Nazareth, and Ritaglenda received three boxes each, totaling 900 FFPs. In Libjo, 481 beneficiaries across Barangays General Aguinaldo, San Antonio, and Llamera received 1,893 FFPs.
“The distribution of FFPs also supports the local initiatives of the beneficiaries while ensuring that their contributions to the project are recognized,” the DSWD-13 said.
The agency emphasized that the FFW program empowers communities, promotes sustainable development, and provides essential support to families in the Dinagat Islands.
