
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has announced scheduled weekend road maintenance across several cities in Metro Manila, including Quezon City, Malabon, Navotas, Caloocan, and Makati.
In an advisory issued Friday, the DPWH-National Capital Region (NCR) said that activities such as asphalt overlay, rotomilling, box culvert construction, and canal rehabilitation will require partial lane closures to minimize traffic disruption.
The road works began at 11 p.m. on Thursday, April 4, and are expected to be completed by 5 a.m. on Sunday, April 7.
Quezon City
- Asphalt overlay will be carried out along Fairview Avenue southbound, from Mitsubishi to Ilang-Ilang Bridge.
- Road reblocking will occur on Payatas Road (from Ana Store to Payatas Multipurpose Hall) and on the inner southbound lane of Commonwealth Avenue (from the Central Avenue corner to Technohub U-turn).
- Rotomilling (removal of old asphalt) is set for Commonwealth Avenue, covering all southbound lanes from Isuzu to Puregold, and the inner northbound lane from Elliptical Road to University Avenue.
Malabon City
- Box culvert construction will take place along M.H. Del Pilar Street (Valenzuela-bound), from Ponce Street to Santos Street.
- Grade raising is scheduled from Arkong Bato to Ponce Street.
Caloocan City
- Reblocking works are set for Bisig ng Nayon Street to Paz Street; along Gen. San Miguel Street (westbound); and on C3 Road (eastbound) from Navotas/Caloocan boundary to Torsillo Street, and from Torsillo Street to Dagat-Dagatan Avenue.
Makati City
- Expansion joint replacement will be done on EDSA, northbound from Magallanes Avenue to Alpha Land Magallanes Flyover, and southbound from Autoplus to Magallanes South Superhighway.
Motorists are advised to expect traffic delays in affected areas and consider alternative routes to avoid congestion.
