DPWH completes P96-M flood control project in Baseco

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed a PHP96.49-million flood control project in Baseco Compound, Port Area, Manila, providing protection against river overflow and flooding.

DPWH National Capital Region Director Loreta Malaluan announced on Friday that the project is the fourth phase of a slope protection initiative, serving as a defense barrier for residents while also preventing soil erosion and improving water quality.

Carried out from May 2024 to January 2025, the latest phase follows three earlier phases that cost PHP285.34 million.

Malaluan also confirmed that three more phases are planned and will be funded under the 2025 General Appropriations Act.
