The Department of Tourism (DOT) has added Mandarin-speaking agents to its Tourist Assistance Call Center to better assist Chinese travelers visiting the Philippines. This is in line with the agency’s goal to enhance the overall tourist experience, as outlined in the National Tourism Development Plan 2023-2028.
The hotline, 151-TOUR (151-8687), now offers assistance in four languages: English, Filipino, Korean, and Mandarin. It remains operational even during holidays like Holy Week.
“With a total of four languages already available, the Department of Tourism’s Tourist Assistance Call Center aims to fulfill a key objective of the National Tourism Development Plan (NTDP) 2023 to 2028, which is to enhance the overall tourist experience in the Philippines,” said Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco.
She added, “Our call center is also dedicated to deliver accessible, efficient, and world-class service to all tourists, both domestic and international, aligned with the goal of a digitally empowered government envisioned by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.”
Mandarin-speaking agents are available Monday to Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Philippine Standard Time). Tourists may also reach out through mobile (+63 954-253-3215), email (touristassistance@tourism.gov.ph), Facebook Messenger (Department of Tourism – Philippines), or via Click2Call and Live Webchat at beta.tourism.gov.ph.
Since its launch in October 2023, the call center has received around 14,000 calls from 72 countries. It was recently recognized as Best in Service – Customer Support (Regional Level) at the Asia Best of Best Awards 2024 held in Dubai.
China is currently the sixth top source market for the Philippines, with 72,665 Chinese tourists recorded in the first quarter of 2025.
