The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) said it will continue monitoring wage and income patterns in response to workers’ calls for higher pay.
The agency highlighted its role in adjusting minimum wages through the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Boards (RTWPBs), which handle increases for lower-paid workers annually.
DOLE issued the statement after the December 2025 OCTA Research Tugon ng Masa survey found that higher wages and salaries remain the top concern for Filipinos.
As of the survey, 14 wage orders raising daily minimum pay by PHP20 to PHP100 for private-sector workers had already been implemented.
The Davao and Bicol regions are scheduled to start their wage-setting process in January and February, respectively.
For domestic workers, 11 wage orders increasing monthly pay by PHP300 to PHP2,000 have been issued, including an PHP800 hike in the National Capital Region set to take effect on February 7.
Beyond wage adjustments, DOLE noted programs that boost worker income, including free enterprise training from the National Wages and Productivity Commission and skills certification from the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority to improve employability.
