MANILA – The Department of Energy (DOE) on Friday night said it has delivered earlier in the day the check to AmiananPH, the provider of the artisan gifts presented to delegates, guests and partners who attended the ASEAN Ministers on Energy Meeting from Oct. 5 to 9.

This, after AmiananPH claimed in a social media post that the payment of DOE and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) for the ASEAN-related souvenirs are delayed.

“Today, 30 October 2026, the DOE completed the processing of the payment and delivered the

check to the supplier, ahead of the 30-working-day processing period stipulated in the Terms of

Reference.” the agency said in a statement.

The statement explained that the agency “maintained open and regular communication with the supplier throughout the agreed 30-working-day processing period.”

It said that “during the supplier’s visit to the Department yesterday, 29 October 2026, the DOE provided an update on the status of the payment and assured the supplier that the matter was being closely monitored and being processed as scheduled.”

“The Department of Energy recognizes and fully supports the important role of local enterprises in preserving Filipino craftsmanship and contributing to the livelihoods of communities. It remains committed to fostering partnerships grounded in transparency, accountability, and the timely fulfillment of its obligations,” it added.

“The Department remains committed to keeping its partners informed and addressing any questions or concerns that may arise,” it added. (Joann Santiago-Villanueva/PNA)
