Dismissed Bulacan first district assistant engineer Jaypee Mendoza has left the protective custody of the House of Representatives, Bicol Saro party-list Representative Terry Ridon confirmed Sunday.
“Upon his own request, Mr. Jaypee Mendoza has left the protective custody of the House of Representatives on 12 September 2025,” Ridon said in a Viber message.
“He expressed his wish to be with his family at this time,” he added.
Mendoza earlier sought security after disclosing that he received a death threat from a supposed “hitman.” He is among four contractors facing a graft complaint filed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) before the Office of the Ombudsman over alleged anomalous flood control projects in Bulacan.
“The House Infrastructure Committee, nonetheless, hopes that Mr. Mendoza will continue to appear in future committee hearings to provide further information relevant to the ongoing inquiry,” Ridon said.
Mendoza, along with former Bulacan first district assistant engineer Brice Hernandez and former district engineer Henry Alcantara, has been dismissed from the DPWH.
