Motorists traveling southbound along Dimasalang Street will soon benefit from improved traffic flow as the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) announced the reopening of the southbound lane of Dimasalang Bridge on January 17, 2026.

The update was formally conveyed to Manila City Hall through a letter dated January 14, 2026, from the DPWH–North Manila District Engineering Office, confirming that rehabilitation works on the bridge’s southbound carriageway have been completed.

Addressed to Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko” Moreno Domagoso, the letter stated that the project—officially known as “Rehabilitation / Major Repair of Permanent Bridges – Dimasalang Bridge (B01820LZ) along Dimasalang Street”—has successfully concluded after undergoing extensive structural improvements.

District Engineer Dennis E. Sandoval assured city officials that the repaired lane is ready for public use, noting that the completion of works paves the way for the full restoration of southbound traffic along the busy thoroughfare.

The rehabilitation project was carried out through a joint venture between G.F. Fabian Construction and F316 Construction Corporation, and involved major repairs aimed at enhancing the bridge’s safety and durability.

DPWH also acknowledged the cooperation of the Manila city government, expressing gratitude for the support and coordination provided by the Mayor’s office throughout the duration of the project.

With the reopening scheduled this week, commuters and motorists are expected to experience smoother and safer travel along the Dimasalang corridor.
