DILG’S STATEMENT ON DECEMBER 5, 2025 ON PERSONALITIES LINKED IN THE FLOOD CONTROL SCAM
The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) said Friday that it is fully prepared to carry out President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s order to arrest those implicated in the alleged ₱100-million ghost flood control project in Jose Abad Santos, Davao Occidental.
In a statement, the DILG said it and the Philippine National Police (PNP) are closely monitoring the whereabouts of the individuals facing charges for malversation through falsification and violation of Section 3(e) of the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act.
The agency said the arrests would immediately follow once the courts issue warrants.
“Gaya ng paalala ng Pangulo, walang makakalusot sa batas. Mananagot ang mga sangkot,” the DILG said, assuring the public that accountability and justice will be pursued against those involved in corruption.
The project in question allegedly involved a flood control structure that was fully paid for but never constructed, prompting the Ombudsman to recommend the filing of criminal charges.
