The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) is opening in 2025 with optimism about delivering more housing units under President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s flagship Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program.
This is after last month’s ceremonial turnover of 4PH units in Palayan City to overseas Filipino workers during the Pamaskong Handog para sa OFWs in Malacanang.
DHSUD Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar vowed that more 4PH units would soon be delivered to beneficiaries, citing the completion of several buildings at various project sites.
“We are now starting to reap the initial results of 4PH projects–decent, safe, and affordable housing units in condominium-type developments,” said Secretary Acuzar.
“Sa mga susunod na linggo ay inaasahan namin ang sunud-sunod at tuluy-tuloy na turn over ng mga 4PH units sa ating mga beneficiaries,” he added.
So far, Pag-IBIG Fund is processing more than 1,000 applications under 4PH in at least four project sites.
Pag-IBIG Fund is supporting the 4PH Projects in Palayan City, Bacolod City, and Bocaue in Bulacan, among other places.
Meanwhile, the Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC) has two projects in the final phases of completing some buildings. These are the Crystal Peak Estates in the City of San Fernando in Pampanga and the People’s Ville in Davao City.
Currently, 56 ongoing projects under 4PH are in various phases of construction and development in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
Apart from 4PH, the DHSUD continues with its regular housing programs through its key shelter agencies.
Secretary Acuzar said that these 4PH projects took two years to realize due to the shift to vertical housing or condominium-type development and delays in documentary requirements on the part of private partners.
Under 4PH, the DHSUD is prioritizing condominium buildings to maximize the use of government lands in housing.
Secretary Acuzar assured that, like commercial condominium projects, all 4PH projects will have generous open spaces as common areas for parks, playgrounds, and clubhouses.
“Sa 4PH, ang dating na-e-enjoy lamang ng mga may kaya sa buhay ay ma-e-experience na rin ng ordinaryo nating mga kababayan,” he said.
“Yan po ang bilin lagi ni Pangulong Bongbong Marcos Jr. –unahin natin ang mga salat sa buhay,” Secretary Acuzar added.
