Defense Secretary praises AFP for high public trust in latest survey

Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr. commended the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) for achieving high public trust, as indicated by the latest OCTA survey. In a news release over the weekend, Teodoro congratulated the AFP leadership under President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., stating that the survey results reflect the military’s “dedication, professionalism, genuine connection and empathy with our people, and tunay na pagmamahal sa Inang Bayan (true love for the Motherland).”

“Pilipinas ‘di ka pasisiil! (Philippines, you will not be oppressed!)” Teodoro declared.

According to OCTA’s July 2025 Tugon ng Masa survey, 81 percent of adult Filipinos expressed trust in the AFP, while 82 percent reported satisfaction with the institution’s performance. The survey was conducted from July 12 to 17 through face-to-face interviews with 1,200 respondents aged 18 and above.
