Europe is becoming a new labor destination for Filipinos, with Croatia leading the way through a government-to-government hiring program in partnership with the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW).
Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac said the initiative is part of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to create safe and dignified overseas job opportunities for Filipinos.
“What’s important here is that there is a clear agreement and both governments are monitoring. That means protection, support, and respect for our workers,” Cacdac said.
Croatia is offering 435 posts in the hospitality and food service sector—255 room attendants, 110 waiters, and 70 cooks. Salaries range from 976.99 to 1,079.24 euros (PHP62,500–PHP69,000) monthly.
Applicants must be Filipino citizens, at least 18 years old, high school graduates, TESDA NC II-certified in their field, and physically fit for overseas work. English proficiency is required, though prior work experience is not.
Applications must be submitted personally at the DMW Central Office in Ortigas or any regional office after registering online at the DMW portal. Courier submissions will not be accepted.
The deadline for submission is Sept. 24, while interviews for pre-qualified applicants are set for Oct. 15 at the DMW head office in Mandaluyong City. The DMW cautioned jobseekers to beware of illegal recruiters.
