Couple tagged as among Mimaropa’s most wanted falls in Rizal

A couple tagged as most wanted persons (MWPs) in the Mimaropa region was arrested in Rizal province, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) said on Friday.

In a statement, CIDG chief Brig. Gen. Nicolas Torre III said the group’s Anti-Transnational Crime Unit (ATCU) served warrants of arrest against alias Andres and Marites, who were named as the region’s second and third Most Wanted Persons, respectively

The couple was arrested at about 11:40 a.m. outside San Mateo, Rizal’s Hall of Justice on Wednesday.

The couple is the subject of arrest warrants for large-scale illegal recruitment, syndicated estafa, qualified trafficking in persons, and qualified attempted trafficking in persons issued by the Puerto Princesa City, Palawan Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 49 on December 4, 2024, with no bail recommended.

The arrested individuals were informed of the nature of their arrest and their constitutional rights as embodied in the Miranda Doctrine. They were later brought to the CIDG-ATCU office for proper documentation and disposition.

“Pinapaalalahanan ko ang publiko na huwag agad magtiwala at tiyakin nang mabuti ang mga trabahong inaalok upang maiwasan ang maloko,” Torre said. (PNA)
