Cookies with a dause: Drip and Bites baked way to sweet success on TikTok Shop

From a humble kitchen experiment to a thriving cookie brand with nationwide reach, Drip and Bites is proving that business growth and community impact can rise together—just like a perfectly baked batch fresh out of the oven.

Born during the pandemic, the brand started as a passion project between siblings Precious and PJ Silva in 2020. Their vision was simple but bold: create affordable cookies that not only delighted customers but also opened up livelihood opportunities for people who needed them most.

“We wanted something we loved, something accessible, and something meaningful,” Precious recalls. “Cookies became our starting point, and they turned out to be the perfect choice.”

From kitchen batches to nationwide orders
Like many small food ventures, Drip and Bites first gained traction through word of mouth. But the real turning point came when the siblings joined TikTok Shop. By blending storytelling with selling, the platform allowed them to scale without the heavy burden of physical expansion.

“TikTok Shop let us reach homes across the country without opening multiple stores,” said Precious. “It connected us not just to customers, but also to affiliates and resellers who became part of our growth story. For a small business, that was game-changing.”

The exposure didn’t just stay online. Their short-form videos—showcasing everything from cookie drizzles to behind-the-scenes baking—translated into offline recognition. Shoppers began showing up at mall pop-ups because they had seen Drip and Bites on TikTok.

“It became one of our strongest marketing tools,” Precious shared. “It’s incredible how digital content can drive real-world connections.”

Sweet growth with a bigger purpose
While the cookies—handmade, proudly Filipino, and now produced at up to 300 pieces daily—are undeniably the star of the business, Drip and Bites’ heart lies in its social mission.

From the beginning, the Silvas chose to hire from within their community, giving opportunities to out-of-school youth, full-time homemakers, and others who often get overlooked by traditional employers. With in-house training programs, they helped transform raw potential into skilled team members.

“We asked, ‘Who can we develop?’ not just ‘Who’s qualified now?’” Precious explained. “Once we trained them, we realized how much talent was just waiting for a chance.”

A recipe for MSME success
For TikTok Shop, Drip and Bites is more than just a case study—it’s a blueprint for how small and medium enterprises can thrive in the digital economy.

“Drip and Bites shows how local entrepreneurs can grow, inspire, and drive community development when they embrace social commerce,” said Franco Aligaen, Marketing Lead at TikTok Shop Philippines.

And while the orders keep growing, Precious remains focused on what matters most: staying true to the brand’s roots. “We’re proud of our cookies,” she said, “but even prouder of what they mean for the people behind them. With the right platforms and purpose, businesses like ours can thrive—and bring others along with us.”

What began with nine cookies baked in a small kitchen has blossomed into a story of resilience, innovation, and inclusion. Drip and Bites is proof that when purpose meets digital opportunity, small businesses can create something far greater than profit—they can build community, one cookie at a time.
