Comelec deletes files related to May 2025 Elections

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) announced on Tuesday that it has deleted all files in the National Printing Office (NPO) related to the May 12, 2025 national and local elections.

In an interview, Comelec Commissioner Rey Bulay, who heads the Committee on Ballot Printing, stated that the deletion of the files signifies the conclusion of his committee’s responsibilities concerning the recent polls. He noted that the deletion process, conducted at the NPO head office in Quezon City, was approved by the Comelec en banc through a resolution.

“Based on the Resolution issued on May 27, as part of transparency, we approved the deletion of data in the NPO server,” Bulay explained, as he led the activity at the NPO.

Among the files that were deleted were official ballots, voter information sheets, and ballot reprints. Bulay emphasized that the deletion of these files is administered after every election to comply with the Data Protection Act.
