City Government launches LIGTAS App for Hazard Reporting

The city government has announced the development of an online app called LIGTAS (Local Incident Gathering Tool for Alerting Safety) that allows residents to report hazardous situations that could lead to disasters. According to Charles Bryan Carame of the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO), the app is designed to expedite the reporting of dangerous situations for quicker responses from appropriate authorities.

“With this tool, we aim to provide residents with a technology-driven platform to notify authorities of potential disasters in the communities,” Carame stated in a media interview.

Residents will be able to report incidents such as soil erosion, unstable slopes, clogged canals, damaged utility posts, and fallen trees. The app is set to be officially launched this month.

To facilitate its use, quick response (QR) codes will be posted in barangay halls, schools, and key public spaces. Carame emphasized that LIGTAS will also encourage community involvement in addressing environmental hazards and preventing disasters.

“LIGTAS is not just an incident report form; we intend it as a movement,” he said. “Through LIGTAS, every resident can be part of keeping our city safe and disaster-ready.”
