Thousands of families filled an amusement park in Tanauan, Batangas as actress Maja Salvador led the lighting of a giant Christmas tree, marking the official start of the holiday season in the province.
Fresh from giving birth, Salvador said the event was meaningful as she returned to work during her favorite time of the year. “Kasi favorite ko talaga is Christmas. At ngayon, nagbabalik na tayo after giving birth, diba? Yung magbabalik trabaho na tayo,” she said. “Naimbitahan pa tayo dito sa J.Castle para magbukas ng kanilang giant Christmas tree… isa ’yan sa lagi natin mission ang mag-spread ng happiness at magbigay saya everyday, not just every Christmas.”
Guests enjoyed bright holiday lights, themed attractions, and a grand fireworks show that illuminated the Tanauan night sky.
Salvador also shared her holiday plans, saying she will celebrate Christmas and New Year in Canada with her family. “Ang Christmas kasi ay para sa pamilya. So we will go to Canada to spend Christmas,” she said.
