China said it is willing to work with the United States to maintain stable and sustainable economic and trade ties, a Ministry of Commerce spokesperson said Thursday.
He Yongqian made the remarks during a regular press briefing, responding to questions about the upcoming sixth round of China-U.S. economic and trade consultations.
The spokesperson said both countries have maintained ongoing communication at various levels through the established consultation mechanism.
He noted that China aims to uphold the agreements reached by the two heads of state during their 2025 meeting in Busan and their recent phone call on Feb. 4.
China is prepared to engage with the US through equal consultation to manage differences constructively.
The spokesperson emphasized that the goal is to expand practical cooperation between the two nations.
He added that maintaining stable and healthy trade relations will benefit both countries and contribute positively to the global economy.
Officials said China remains committed to fostering a cooperative and predictable environment for bilateral economic and trade development.
