MANILA – Cebu Pacific (CEB), the Gokongwei-led budget airline, has been awarded the Best Airline title at the 2025 Routes Asia Awards, recognizing its strong network strategy and commitment to expanding air travel accessibility across the region.
“This recognition reflects the strength of our network strategy and, more importantly, the partnerships we’ve built with our airport partners and stakeholders,” said CEB President Xander Lao in a statement on Wednesday. He emphasized that the award reinforces the airline’s dedication to providing affordable air travel and strengthening its regional presence.
In 2024, Cebu Pacific launched 28 new routes, including 19 domestic and nine international services, connecting passengers to sought-after destinations like Chiang Mai, Kaohsiung, and Sapporo. Additionally, new hubs in Davao and Iloilo were established, complementing existing key hubs in Manila, Cebu, and Clark.
Cebu Pacific’s role in boosting regional tourism was also acknowledged by Tanya Rabat-Tan, Regional Director of the Department of Tourism XI, who praised the airline’s impact on making Davao more accessible to local and international travelers, significantly enhancing the region’s economic and tourism landscape.
To support its growing network, CEB made history with a landmark purchase order of 152 Airbus aircraft, the largest in Philippine aviation history. This investment is part of the airline’s long-term strategy to modernize its fleet and meet increasing travel demand.
The airline also ramped up tourism efforts with the launch of its “Fly to Happy, Fly to the Philippines!” campaign, designed to attract global travelers by showcasing the country’s natural wonders and cultural experiences.
Currently, Cebu Pacific operates flights to 37 domestic and 26 international destinations across Asia, Australia, and the Middle East, reinforcing its position as a key player in the region’s aviation industry.
