Cebu Pacific has rolled out flexible travel options for passengers affected by the twin earthquakes that struck Davao Oriental on Friday, underscoring the airline’s commitment to passenger safety amid ongoing assessments in the region.

While the Department of Transportation confirmed that Davao International Airport remains fully operational with only minor structural impact, the budget carrier announced that passengers may voluntarily defer their travel without extra cost.

Under Cebu Pacific’s advisory, travelers with confirmed bookings to and from Davao, Bohol, Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, General Santos, and Tacloban on October 10 may opt for free rebooking or convert their tickets into travel funds for future use. These options can be availed up to two hours before the scheduled departure time.

“The safety of our passengers and crew remains our top priority,” the airline said, noting that while operations continue, potential schedule adjustments may still occur depending on airport and regional conditions.

Passengers are strongly encouraged to check the Flight Status section of Cebu Pacific’s official website and update their contact details via the Manage Booking portal to receive real-time notifications.

The Gokongwei-led carrier has frequently adopted such flexible policies during natural disasters and emergencies—part of its broader crisis management approach that allows travelers to adjust plans without added financial burden.

In light of Friday’s magnitude 7.4 quake and its aftershocks, Cebu Pacific’s swift response reflects how Philippine airlines are increasingly adopting compassionate travel policies that balance operational continuity with empathy for affected passengers.

As Davao continues to recover, the airline said it remains on standby to adjust services in coordination with aviation and local authorities, ensuring safe passage for all travelers in and out of Mindanao.
