CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – The city government inaugurated the PHP50.9 million “smart” school building annex at Carmen National High School on Friday.
Mayor Rolando Uy led the turnover of the three-story building with nine classrooms.
“I made sure that these classrooms are ready for the future, equipped to meet the demands of an increasingly technology-driven world,” he told reporters in an interview.
Built using durable, high-quality materials, the smart school building was designed to ensure the facility’s safety and long-term reliability.
The ground floor houses a storage room and a data cabinet containing the school’s closed-circuit television (CCTV) monitoring system.
To enhance digital learning, every classroom is furnished with computers, projectors, and Smart TVs.
The facility, funded by the city via the Local School Board, has fire protection, alarms, smoke detectors, a generator, water pump, and tanks to ensure a continuous water supply.
Other smart school buildings here are slated to be finished by 2027 with more than PHP100 million in construction cost. (PNA)
