Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray led the parade for the celebration of National Arts Month 2025 at an event in Intramuros, Manila, organized by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA).
She has served as an ambassador for the NCCA for the sixth time since being crowned Miss Universe.
“I think it’s really poignant to say that the creation process, or pursuing creativity, is something that feeds the soul, but also inspires others to go under the same path, to be able to create other things, to be able to push what we thought is possible,” she said.
“Art inspires, art uplifts,” she added.
National Arts Month is a nationwide celebration of the Philippines’ vibrant cultural and artistic heritage, observed every February. It was officially established in 1991 through Presidential Proclamation No. 683, signed by President Corazon Aquino.
This proclamation also designated the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) as the primary agency responsible for organizing and overseeing the event.
This year’s theme, “Ani ng Sining, Diwa at Damdamin,” highlights that the creative spirit of a nation is deeply rooted in the soul and passion of its people.
