Carla Abellana embraces motherhood with hope, IVF options, and love rekindled after 20 years

Carla Abellana is embracing a new chapter with openness, intention, and a modern mindset—one that blends love, science, and second chances.

Now married to Dr. Reginald Santos, the Kapuso actress has been candid about their shared hope of starting a family, even as she approaches a milestone age. Turning 40 in June 2026, Carla is realistic about time but far from anxious, choosing instead to prepare thoughtfully for motherhood.

In recent interviews, Carla revealed that she has already taken a proactive step by freezing her eggs, giving herself and her husband more options should they encounter challenges conceiving naturally. She shared that they are open to in vitro fertilization, viewing it not as a last resort, but as a responsible and empowering backup plan.

Speaking to 24 Oras, Carla said that building a family is now her top priority, acknowledging both faith and biology in the process. For her, planning ahead is not about pressure, but about peace of mind.

The couple is also looking forward to their upcoming honeymoon in Europe, quietly hoping that the trip might mark the beginning of their journey into parenthood.

Beyond baby plans, Carla has also been glowing as she looks back on their recent wedding—an intimate, deeply personal ceremony held on December 27 in Alfonso, Cavite. In a conversation on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, she described the experience as the opposite of her previous, highly publicized wedding.

This time, the celebration was deliberately private, reflecting both her current values and her husband’s non-showbiz lifestyle. Carla admitted that the post-wedding high—the excitement and adrenaline—still lingers, but what stands out most is the calm and authenticity she now feels.

Adding a romantic twist to the story is the couple’s shared past. Dr. Reginald, Carla revealed, was her first love. They were together in high school before life took them in separate directions, only to be reunited more than two decades later through a simple Christmas greeting sent via private message.

When they met again after more than 20 years, Carla said it felt as if no time had passed. The familiarity, ease, and emotional safety were instantly there—no pretenses, no judgments, just a natural alignment that picked up where they once left off.

Now, with a peaceful marriage, renewed love, and a forward-looking approach to family life, Carla Abellana is redefining what it means to start over—not with urgency, but with grace, intention, and hope.
