Caloocan warehouse fire snarls EDSA traffic

A large fire gutted a beverage warehouse in Barangay 95, Caloocan City, early Sunday morning, forcing a third-alarm response and causing significant traffic delays along EDSA.

According to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the blaze broke out at the Zesto warehouse on J. Mariano Street at approximately 4:21 a.m.

The fire spread rapidly through the facility, which contained plastic packaging and juice products, leading to a roof collapse as the structure was compromised.

The alarm level was raised to a third alarm by 5:41 a.m., requiring several fire engines from across the region to contain the flames. Thick black smoke billowed over the city, and responding emergency vehicles occupied two lanes of EDSA, causing a bottleneck for motorists.

Firefighters declared the situation under control at 8:50 a.m. While the warehouse sustained extensive damage, no injuries or casualties were reported.

Arson investigators are currently on-site to determine the cause of the fire and assess the total cost of the damage.
