Recognizing this, Calamba Medical Center (CMC), one of South Luzon’s leading healthcare institutions, is strengthening its energy backbone through a partnership with MPower, the retail electricity supplier of Manuel V. Pangilinan-led Manila Electric Company (Meralco).
The collaboration is set to support Calamba Medical Center’s increasing electricity requirements while helping the hospital optimize operational efficiency through competitive and flexible power solutions.
Under the agreement, MPower will facilitate the enrollment of five service accounts under the Retail Aggregation Program (RAP) and one account under the Competitive Retail Electricity Market (CREM), enabling CMC’s hospital buildings and facilities in Laguna to access more competitive electricity rates while ensuring dependable energy supply.
The move comes as healthcare institutions across the country continue to pursue operational improvements amid rising energy demands and growing patient needs.
Part of the Metro Pacific Investments Corporation healthcare portfolio, Calamba Medical Center has built its reputation as Laguna’s premier medical institution and a major referral center for acute healthcare services in South Luzon. The hospital continues to expand its reach while advancing its mission of delivering quality, compassionate, and accessible healthcare to more communities.
For CMC, joining the Retail Aggregation Program is more than a cost-management initiative—it is also part of a broader strategy to maximize resources and strengthen long-term sustainability.

The partnership is also expected to support future growth initiatives, including the construction of additional medical facilities aimed at expanding healthcare access in Laguna.

We also look forward to expanding this partnership with the upcoming construction of CMC’s new medical buildings,” Almira added.
