The city government inaugurated a Php 50.9-million smart school building annex at Carmen National High School on Friday.
Mayor Rolando Uy led the turnover of the three-story facility, which has nine classrooms designed to support technology-based learning.
Uy said the classrooms were built to meet the needs of students in an increasingly digital learning environment.
Each classroom was equipped with computers, projectors and smart televisions to improve access to digital lessons and instructional materials.
The ground floor also houses a storage room and a data cabinet connected to the school’s closed-circuit television monitoring system.
The building was constructed using durable materials and fitted with fire alarms, smoke detectors and other safety features.
It also has a generator, water pump and storage tanks to maintain power and water supply during disruptions.
The project was funded by the city government through the Local School Board. Other smart school buildings worth more than Php 100 million are expected to be completed by 2027.
