The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) has extended temporary flight limitations around several active volcanoes until Thursday, January 8, as a precaution for aviation safety.

Updated advisories were released for Kanlaon, Bulusan, Taal, and Mayon Volcanoes to inform pilots and operators of the restricted airspace and height limits.

Kanlaon Volcano in Negros is restricted from the surface up to 11,000 feet until Thursday morning, while Bulusan Volcano in Sorsogon has a vertical limit of 10,000 feet.

Taal Volcano in Batangas and Mayon Volcano in Albay also have airspace restrictions up to 11,000 feet, effective through the same period.

CAAP reminded all flight operators to avoid flying near volcanic summits and to continuously check NOTAMs and official advisories for updates.

According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), Mayon remains under Alert Level 3, signaling intensified volcanic unrest. Kanlaon is at Alert Level 2, while Bulusan and Taal are classified at Alert Level 1.

Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely and urge pilots and local communities to remain vigilant and follow safety advisories issued by government agencies.
