The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) prepares for the New Year celebrations after ensuring passengers experience smooth and hassle-free journeys during the peak days of the Christmas travel operations.
The CAAP attributed its success to enhanced planning, proactive measures, and collaboration with airport stakeholders.
It said the surge in holiday traffic was met with streamlined processes, including faster check-ins, improved baggage handling, and better passenger flow management.
“Christmas is one of the busiest times of the year, and we’re delighted to have provided seamless travel experiences for Filipinos and international visitors. Our efforts reflect our commitment to operational excellence, even under peak demand,” CAAP director general Manuel Antonio Tamayo said in a news release on Thursday.
As New Year celebrations approach, he said CAAP remains on heightened alert to maintain safe and efficient airport services, in line with the directive of the Department of Transportation’s “Oplan Biyaheng Ayos: Pasko 2024”.
As airports brace for a second wave of holiday travelers, CAAP reinforces its protocols to ensure safety and convenience.
The agency also reminds passengers to follow travel guidelines, arrive early for their flights, and be mindful of prohibited items to help maintain smooth airport operations.
CAAP expects an increase of 7% to 10% in air passengers this year compared to the 2.4 million passengers recorded in December last year.
