The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) has introduced two new commemorative coins that showcase the country’s vibrant culture and its growing leadership on the regional stage.

In a ceremony at Malacañang Palace on 26 November 2025, BSP Governor Eli M. Remolona Jr. presented the “Pista sa Pilipinas: 100-Piso Philippine Festivals Commemorative Silver Coin Series” and the special “10-Piso ASEAN Coin” to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

The 100-Piso festival coin series pays tribute to the Philippines’ colorful traditions and iconic celebrations, capturing the spirit of community and heritage that define the nation. Meanwhile, the 10-Piso ASEAN coin highlights the Philippines’ role as ASEAN Chair in 2026 and reinforces the country’s commitment to regional cooperation.

Governor Remolona was joined by Department of Foreign Affairs Director-General for Operations Chief of Staff Aian A. Caringal, Assistant Secretary Anne L. Hernando, and BSP Deputy Governor Mamerto E. Tangonan during the presentation of the ASEAN coin.

The newly unveiled coin series aims to spark public appreciation for Philippine culture while promoting deeper awareness of the country’s contributions to the ASEAN community.
