The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) New Clark City Project is gaining momentum as Aidea, Inc., the project’s official Architectural and Engineering (A&E) consultant, has completed the Detailed Architectural and Engineering Design (DAED) documents. This marks a crucial milestone in the project’s development and paves the way for the procurement of a general contractor.
The new BSP complex, which will be located in New Clark City, Capas, Tarlac, has already gained international recognition. Its conceptual design was honored at the prestigious 2022 Architecture MasterPrize under the Architectural Design – Institutional Architecture category, placing it among the world’s best.
The project reflects the BSP’s long-term commitment to resilience and sustainability. By relocating major operations outside Metro Manila, the initiative supports the government’s broader goal of decongesting the capital and strengthening disaster preparedness and business continuity.
Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to infrastructure development, announcing that the northern segment of the North-South Commuter Railway will be completed before the end of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s term. This will improve access to New Clark City and enhance regional connectivity.
Dizon also noted that a feasibility study for a proposed railway extension from Clark International Airport to the future BSP complex is currently underway and is expected to be finished by August 2025. A loan agreement to fund this project is targeted for completion by year-end 2025.
In a related development, Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) President and CEO Joshua Bingcang revealed that the agency has signed a contract with a South Korean company to build housing units near the BSP site. These facilities are intended to support workers and residents in the growing New Clark City hub.
