BSP keeps Friday services open as it joins energy-saving drive

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) said it will continue providing public services on Fridays even as it aligns with the government’s broader energy conservation efforts.

In a statement issued Monday, the central bank assured the public that onsite cash operations at its head office in Manila, the Security Plant Complex in Quezon City, as well as its regional offices and branches nationwide, will remain open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday.

The BSP also said it will continue processing onsite transactions involving BSP-acquired real properties and receiving physical mail and documents from the public at the BSP Hub in Manila on Fridays.

Beyond its onsite services, the central bank noted that its Online Buddy, or BOB, chatbot will remain available around the clock. Accessible through the BSP website, Facebook Messenger, and the BSP mobile app, the platform will continue accepting complaints involving products and services offered by BSP-supervised institutions.

Financial consumers may also continue sending their concerns through the BSP’s consumer assistance email at consumeraffairs@bsp.gov.ph.

With the assurance, the BSP underscored that while it is supporting measures to reduce energy use, essential services for the public will continue uninterrupted.
