Christmas in the Philippines is a season that showcases the heart of the Filipino spirit and the depth of their love for family. From a cozy home in the province where relatives arrive with trays of bibingka and puto bumbong, to city condos filled with the aroma of baked treats being exchanged among friends, one thing always stays true — the home remains the center of every meaningful celebration.
Recognizing that the holidays are about cooking, feasting, and sharing moments with loved ones, IKEA is celebrating Filipino kitchens and dining spaces through its Flavors of Home Festival at the IKEA Store in Pasay City.
The festive affair opened with an engaging gathering of food enthusiasts and interior design lovers who shared creative ideas on holiday décor and delightful recipes that bring warmth to every Filipino home. Social media personalities Icoy Rapadas, Grace Tanfelix, and Mitch Ngo (popularly known as @thechinitafoodie) prepared mouthwatering dishes in a live cooking demonstration, offering inspiration for the numerous parties and gatherings this season. Meanwhile, interior designer Elle Uy walked guests through charming kitchen and dining setups, showing how anyone can recreate stylish spaces using IKEA’s Christmas collection.
Adding to the joyful atmosphere was singer-actress Angeline Quinto, who serenaded the audience with a heartfelt rendition of Sharon Cuneta’s “Bituing Walang Ningning.” The song, cleverly tied to IKEA’s advocacy for sustainability, served as a playful reminder not to waste food — to “balutin” or “i-Sharon” leftovers, a Filipino tradition that encourages mindfulness in consumption. The celebration was capped with performances from a live philharmonic orchestra, filling the IKEA store with the timeless sounds of Filipino Christmas carols.

Ready for the holidays. Foodie creators (L-R) Grace Tanfelix, Icoy Rapadas, and Mitch Ngo (@thechinitafoodie) whipped up delicious dishes using kitchen and dining products, and ingredients from IKEA.
“The Filipino way of celebrating the season is centered on family and food at home. IKEA wants to make it more special with our affordable kitchen and dining range,” said Hervy Nicholas, IKEA Philippines Sales Leader. “That’s what drives us at IKEA: the joy we get from seeing people from all walks of life enjoying our pieces that are functional, beautiful, sustainable, and affordable.”

For budget-conscious Filipinos looking to prepare their kitchens for the festive cooking ahead, IKEA offers practical and stylish essentials designed for convenience and creativity. The ANNONS five-piece stainless steel cookware set with glass lids, priced at only P699, remains a crowd favorite. Shoppers can also add matching stainless steel trivets (P69 each) to protect countertops and dining tables in style.
Those planning to simmer hearty stews or sauces can reach for the non-stick KLIPPFISK sauté pan with lid (P1,999). Reliable frying options include the IKEA 365+ stainless steel frying pan (P999) and the non-stick TAGGHAJ frying pan (P299). For spontaneous get-togethers, the HEMLAGAD wok with lid (P999) delivers quick stir-fries, while the HEMLAGAD over-stove grill pan is ideal for perfectly seared steaks and barbecues. And for family favorites like beef nilaga, the IKEA 365+ six-liter pressure cooker (P399) ensures faster cooking time without sacrificing flavor.
A table set for togetherness

After all the cooking comes the best part — gathering around the table to enjoy the feast. IKEA makes the transition from kitchen to dining seamless and stylish, with coordinated pieces that celebrate the season’s warmth and simplicity.
Start with festive accents such as the 15-cm POINSETTIA potted plant (P599) for a pop of greenery. Add sparkle with VINTERFINT mixed bauble glass sets (P499 for 8 pieces) or go all out with gold baubles (P599 for 20 pieces).
For tableware, IKEA’s VINTERFINT side plates (P129) feature a subtle red rim perfect for Christmas but timeless enough for year-round use. The SANDSKÄDDA plates (P129) bring an earthy tone, while the HAVSGÄDDA (P129) adds a modern, translucent gray-striped touch. Pair these with STORSINT wine glasses (49 cl., P799 for six pieces) and the IKEA 365+ carafe with cork stopper (P249) for a complete holiday table setup.
For main dishes, the deep green PELARKAKTUS plate (P299) adds a natural, forest-inspired charm, while the GLADELIG plate (P199) in dark gray evokes the elegance of stone. To complete the spread, the STOLTHET cutting board (P599) doubles as a cheese or dessert board, adding rustic warmth to the setting. When the table is overflowing with food, the versatile three-layer RÅSKOG utility cart can hold the extras, keeping everything organized and within reach.
And since Filipino celebrations often extend well beyond Christmas Eve, IKEA’s plain and patterned bowls make mornings after the feast just as delightful — perfect for cereal, soup, or salad. To store all the delicious leftovers or prepare giveaways for loved ones, the IKEA 365+ glass container with bamboo lid (P249, 34 oz.) is both stylish and sustainable.
From the first wrapped gift in September to the last serving of lechon paksiw in January, Filipino families truly know how to stretch the spirit of Christmas.
