BOYNEXTDOOR to headline 2025 FIVB Men’s World Championship

Rising K-pop group BOYNEXTDOOR will return to the Philippines in September as the headliner for the opening ceremony of the 2025 FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship.

The announcement was made Saturday at HYBE’s headquarters in Seoul, South Korea, according to a news release from the Asian Volleyball Confederation. BOYNEXTDOOR has been named the global celebrity ambassadors for the tournament, marking the first time a K-pop act will perform at this prestigious event. The ceremony is set for September 12 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

“We have carefully reviewed and decided on the selection of BOYNEXTDOOR, as a truly pivotal move in elevating the global profile of volleyball and igniting excitement for the event,” said Ramon “Tats” Suzara, president of the Philippine National Volleyball Federation and Asian Volleyball Confederation.

Suzara, who also serves as FIVB executive vice president, added, “With the championship proudly hosted in the Philippines, this partnership presents an incredible opportunity to engage fans across the world, with the BOYNEXTDOOR’s unique appeal and dynamic global influence to attract a wider and more diverse audience profile.”

The Philippines is hosting the 2025 tournament, which features 32 teams, including the country’s own Alas Pilipinas men’s team.

BOYNEXTDOOR — composed of Jaehyun, Sungho, Riwoo, Taesan, Leehan, and Woonhak — debuted in May 2023 under KOZ Entertainment, a HYBE sub-label led by rapper-producer Zico. The group quickly rose to fame with their energetic singles and achieved “million-seller” status in 2024 with their EP “19.99.” They first visited the Philippines in March during their “Knock On Vol. 1” tour at the Araneta Coliseum.
